Dr. Russ earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Illinois at Chicago. She is a graduate of the prestigious Kois Center and has fulfilled over 300 hours of continuing education focused on aesthetics and full-mouth rehabilitation. Completing extensive post graduate training, she is a Top 1% Platinum Provider for Invisalign and excels in facial aesthetic solutions. She focuses on integrating overall health, specializing in airway (body and brain health), function (bite), structure (condition of teeth), and biology (health of gums and bone support).
Home Life
Outside the office, Dr. Russ loves spending time with her husband, reading philosophy, cooking Thai and Indian cuisine, hiking, and biking. A certified Wine Sommelier, she has a passion for all things wine-related and has traveled to over 60 countries.

Dr. Birnbach enjoys skiing, cycling, travel, photography, and spending time with his wife and grandchild, embracing a full and adventurous Boulder lifestyle. A passionate traveler and photographer, he captures the beauty of the many places he loves to visit.
Education and Expertise
Dr. Birnbach earned his B.A. from Queens College (CUNY) and Doctor of Dental Medicine from Tufts University, later serving as a clinical educator. Among an elite few worldwide, he completed the Full Mouth Reconstruction Course at the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies. He has been recognized multiple times as “Clinician of the Year” and as a “Top Dentist” by peers in 5280 magazine for over 20 years.

Alex comes from a strong background in healthcare, most recently working with Children’s Hospital before joining our team. She is passionate about helping others and has a genuine love of learning. Outside the office, Alex enjoys staying active—whether she’s running, biking, 4-wheeling, or playing soccer.
Enrique
Dental Assistant
Meet Enrique, one of our dedicated team members originally from Caracas, Venezuela. With more than 12 years of experience in the dental field, he brings both skill and compassion to the care of our patients. Enrique and his wife, Jennifer, are proud parents to two sons, Maximo and Jacob. Outside the office, Enrique is a passionate musician who plays with the local Venezuelan band Chaimbangle. He’s also an avid sports fan and a loyal supporter of the Denver Nuggets. Whether he’s helping patients smile brighter or creating music, Enrique’s energy and enthusiasm shine through in everything he does.
Kaitlyn
Dental Hygienist
Originally from Flagstaff, Arizona, Kaitlyn brings over 10 years of experience in dentistry and a genuine passion for patient care. Her journey led her to pursue a degree in dental hygiene from the Community College of Denver. With a background in orthodontics, Kaitlyn gained valuable hands-on experience and discovered how much she enjoys patient education and helping others achieve healthy, confident smiles. She is dedicated to creating a comfortable and welcoming experience for every patient, focusing on the connection between oral health and overall wellness. Building lasting, trusting relationships is at the heart of her approach to care. Outside the office, Kaitlyn enjoys traveling, attending concerts, and spending time outdoors with her daughter and best friend.

Her passion for dental hygiene shows through in the attentive, personalized care she delivers every day. Outside the office, Meghan loves spending time outdoors, exploring new places through travel, and enjoying quality moments with her family.
Aleana
Dental Assistant
Aleana relocated to Colorado from California and joined Boulder Smiles in October 2006. She moved with her daughter, Alyx, to be closer to family in Longmont. A Dental Assistant since January 1997, Aleana has explored every aspect of dentistry but is especially passionate about cosmetic dentistry and the way it transforms smiles. Outside of the office, she enjoys movies, exploring Denver’s nightlife, and taking in the ever-changing colors of Colorado.
Rasilla
Front office & Creative graphic designer
Rasilla, a proud Colorado native, grew up surrounded by the outdoors, fueling her love for activities like paddleboarding with family and friends. She started her dental career three years ago as a receptionist at a busy Denver office, where the supportive team and patient interactions sparked her passion for the field. Today, Rasilla remains committed to growing professionally and making a positive impact on patients' dental health and experience.
